Mandy Roach

Nurse Practitioner/Owner

With over 20 years of nursing experience, Miranda (Mandy) is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner, ready to provide guideline driven, Family Practice services to residents of Palestine and all of the surrounding ETX area. She is also a Certified Medical Examiner and is able to perform D.O.T physicals, and is BIOTE certified to provide hormone pellet replacement therapy.

Since graduating with honors from The University of Texas at Tyler in 2002 with her BSN, Miranda has held positions in inpatient oncology, medical telemetry, served as charge nurse on a chest pain/observation unit, and also worked in the emergency department. After receiving her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington and being certified with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2019, Miranda went on to run a very busy walk–in cash clinic, in Montgomery, TX. There, she was the only provider, providing urgent care/primary care services to the uninsured population of the Lake Conroe area. After working rural primary medicine in Trinity Co. for Woodrome Medical, PA, she became jaded with insurance companies and our managed healthcare system. She realized that the cash-pay model, that she experienced out at the lake, gives providers and patients the chance to make decisions that are individually based and to spend more time developing provider/patient relationships. Uninsured individuals should be able to receive the same medical care and be offered the same treatments and testing as any other insured person would, and with the same enthusiasm, hence, ETX Elite Care and Wellness was eventually born!

Miranda grew up in East Texas. She was raised in Buffalo and moved to Palestine/Westwood in 1993, and is a proud 1997 graduate of Westwood High School. Nursing is in her blood. Her mother in a RN and resides in Grapeland, TX. She is a night time House Supervisor at Palestine Regional Medical Center and has served as an example of hard work and determination and taught Miranda that she can do anything she puts her mind to. She will be working by her side as PT Office Manager/MA, making this a true “family” practice. Her baby sister, Shelbi Shaffer, also of Grapeland, who is a certified pharmacy technician, will also be working in the clinic as a MA/Front of Office Manager.

Miranda started nursing school in 2000 with the end goal in mind to become a nurse practitioner and open a clinic in East Texas. Her step-grandfather was a small-town, country doctor in Buffalo, and was her inspiration to become a provider. She spent many hours “playing” at the clinic, which her grandmother, Parthena ran also served as nurse!
